Phillip "Bud" McCormickPhillip E. "Bud" McCormick, 76, of Astoria died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Astoria, a son of Virgil "Red" and Nelda Bollinger McCormick. He married Virginia Brockley on Feb. 12, 1949, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Rick of Springfield, and Scott and Chris (and Roberta), both of Astoria; one sister, Marilyn Watson of Macomb; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Astoria, the Farm Bureau and LaMoine Saddle Club. In the early 1950s he was a member of the KP Lodge in Astoria.

He was a life-long farmer. He also worked at McCormick Stockyard and Bucher Fence Builders, both in Astoria. He was a seed dealer for Super Crost Seed Co.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Larry Reinke officiating. Burial was at Woodland Cemetery in rural Astoria.

Memorials may be made to his church or Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
