Marilyn MillerMarilyn Miller, 84, of Astoria died at 3:25 p.m. Oct. 9, 2021, at her home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Astoria, a daughter of Virgil and Nelda Bollinger McCormick. She married Jim Miller on Oct. 15, 2006, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Van Fossen Richbark and Karen (and Kevin) Van Fossen Danner, both of Table Grove; two stepdaughters, Janice Slaughter of Astoria and Joyce (and Jerry) Bennett of Hutto, Texas; one stepson, James (and Michelle) Miller Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip “Bud” McCormick; and one sister, Maxine Conner.

She worked at Bernadotte Café and Velma’s Market in Ipava for several years. She then went on to work as a teller at Ipava State Bank for over 30 years.

She was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Lisa Fike officiating. Burial was at Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
