LaVerne Belville Malott, 90, of Lewistown, formerly of Astoria, died at 1:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Prairieview Care Center.
She was born March 14, 1912, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Guy Everitt and Daisy Richardson France. She married Jiles Otto Belville on May 23, 1931, in Rushville. He died July 24, 1970. She married Don Edwin Malott on Sept. 8, 1981, in Lewistown. He died Nov. 17, 1988.
She also was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Mary Ruth Jones; one brother; and one sister.
Surviving are one brother, Everitt (and Ginevra) France of Macomb; three stepdaughters, Jeanette Slaight of Lewistown, Addie (and Jerry) Shaw of Thornton, Colo., and Ada Cluts of Holiday, Fla.; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She had been a factory worker in Astoria, Havana and Peoria.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, where visitation will be one hour before. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
