Naomi McKinley

Naomi McKinleyNaomi C. McKinley, 91, formerly of Astoria, died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2002, at Shabbona Health Care Center in Shabbona.

She was born Feb. 15, 1911, in Cass County, a daughter of Leonard and Annie Osborne Painter. She married Clarence McKinley on Feb. 11, 1933, in Astoria. He died Jan. 4, 1986.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, James and John, and two sisters.

Surviving are one stepdaughter, Betty (and Robert) Rhoades of DeKalb; one grandson; and two great-granddaughters.

She and her husband farmed the McKinley homestead in rural Astoria for 45 years before retiring and moving to Astoria.

She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Marian Stone officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Public Library or the Baby Fold, 108 E. Willow, Normal, IL 61761-0327.
