Clive G. Leonard, 81, of Vermont died at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 5, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born May 24, 1931, in Ipava, a son of Carl V. and Helena Lohr Leonard. He was married twice. Both wives preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Clair, Carl, Phillip and Ray Leonard; and five sisters, Bernice Daniel, Virginia Dwyer, Maxine Immel, Shirley Montgomery and May Fern Kinzer.

Surviving are two sons, Thor Leonard of Vermont and Sterling Leonard of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and one sister, Marilyn Chenoweth of Table Grove.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the medical corps.

He was a scientist working in California for over 30 years. He later moved to Minnesota and started his own company, Controlled Data in Minnetonka, Minn.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Rob Harrison officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery with military rites conducted by Carroll Rankin American Legion Post #26 of Vermont.
