VIRGINIA JUNE (LEONARD) DWYER

Virginia Dwyer

Virginia J. Dwyer, 78, of Table Grove, died at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at her daughter’s home in Peoria following a long illness.

She was born March 23, 1918, near Ipava, a daughter of Carl V. and Helena G. Lohr Leonard. She married Richard D. Dwyer on Dec. 6, 1945, in Manito. He died Sept. 16, 1980. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Dixie Dwyer, one sister and three brothers.

Surviving are three sons, Guy Christopher Jr. of Denver, Colo., Richard Dwyer Jr. of Manteca, Calif., and Thomas Dwyer of Clinton; two daughters, Patricia Kelly of Tracy, Calif., and Mrs. Walter (Judy) Osterman of Peoria; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Maxine Immel and Marilyn Chenoweth, both of Table Grove, May Fern Kinzer of Rialto, Calif., and Shirley Montgomery of Detroit; and two brothers, Clive Leonard of Minnetonka, Minn., and Carl Leonard of Ipava.

She was a U.S. government procurement officer for the Air Force.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. William Abernethy officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Methodist Medical Center Hospice Program.
