VeteranRichard Dwyer Sr. Of Ipava Dies

Richard D. Dwyer Sr., 63, of Ipava, died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1980, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Minier, the son of Roy and Bessie Dwyer. He married Virginia Leonard on Dec. 6, 1945, in Manito.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Richard Jr. of San Jose, Calif. and Thomas of Ipava; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Kelly of Pleasanton, Calif. and Judy Dwyer of Ipava; one stepson, Guy Christopher Jr. of Moline; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Letha Robbins of Kankakee, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dixie, and one sister.

He was a retired iron worker and an Army veteran of WWII.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Earl Moore officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery with military rites.
