Carl D. Leonard, 66, of Ipava died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at 3:45 a.m. at the McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
He was born May 24, 1931, in Ipava, a son of Carl V. and Helena G. Lohr Leonard. He married Geneva Shoffner on June 18, 1965, in Geneva. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Linda Huber of Aurora; three sons, Clive Leonard of Padre Island, Tex., Charles Leonard of Aurora, and James Leonard of Galesburg; one brother, Clive Leonard of Minnesota; four sisters, Maxine Immel and Marilyn Chenoweth, both of Table Grove, Shirley Montgomery of Detroit, Mich., and May Fern Kinzer of Rialto, Ca.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. of Aurora for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was an army veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Ipava American Legion Post #17.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. William Abernethy officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion Post #17.
