She was born May 29, 1926, in Vermont, a daughter of Wilmer “King” and Jessie Carithers Kost.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Debbie Douglas of Good Hope, Bob Young, Bobby Douglas, Sandy (and John) Bybee and Maureen (and Bob) Greene, all of Vermont, Jane (and Larry) Burgard of Astoria and Bruce (and Mary Jane) Kost of Mapleton; one sister, Joan (and Bob) Loring of Macomb; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Douglas; and two brothers, Jack and Russell Kost.
She graduated from Vermont High School in 1945. She then went to work at Ken-Ray-Brass Factory. Later she worked as the administrator at the Astoria Nursing Home before retiring from Stites Medical Services.
Private services were held in Vermont Cemetery in accordance with Jane’s wishes. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
