Steven O. Kinne, 48, of Vermont, died at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at his home.

He was born Dec. 11, 1950, in Macomb, a son of Wycliff T. and Mary Vaughn Kinne. He married Nancy Umphryes Vance on June 2, 1975, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents, and one daughter, Mrs. Brian (Shannon) Lawson, all of Vermont; two stepsons, Michele Vance of Lewistown and Steven Vance of Corinth, Miss.; two brothers, Roger of Vermont and George of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters, Marcia Kinne of Vermont and Lisa Mincy of Beardstown; and eight grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was past commander of Carroll Rankin American Legion Post 26. He worked for Mahoney Foundries and later owned P&S Garage. He was former president of United Auto Workers Local 844.

Services were held Thursday at Vermont Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Kingery officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery, where military rites were accorded by his American Legion post. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.
