Michele “Mitch” VanceMichele “Mitch” Vance
Michele Ray “Mitch” Vance, 51, of Watford City, N.D., formerly of Vermont, died July 2, 2019, at home.
He was born May 1, 1968, in Rushville, a son of Donald and Nancy Umphryes Vance.
Surviving are his mother, Nancy Hayes of Vermont; one son, Mike (and Caitlyn Thompson) Vance of Ipava; one daughter, Jessica Vance of Billings, Mont.; one brother, Steven (and Tabitha “Sam”) Vance of Ipava; and one sister, Shannon Jones of Westport, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a truck driver his entire lifetime. He last worked for Wide Grade Trucking.
He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1987-92.
Graveside services with military rites provided by the Vermont American Legion Post #26 were held Monday at Good Hope Cemetery in rural Rushville with Pastor Cody Stinnett officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
