EDNA H. (JOHNSON) KAVANAUGH

Edna Kavanaugh

Edna H. Kavanaugh, 89, of Carmel, Ind., formerly of Peoria, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at Carmel Care Center.

She was born Aug. 17, 1906, in Ipava, a daughter of Daniel J. and Sarah J. Miller Johnson. She married Raymond Kavanaugh on May 20, 1929, in Chicago. He died March 19, 1963. She also was preceded in death by one grandson.

Surviving are one daughter, Ralene A. Melvin of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mabel Easley of Lewistown, Mildred Taylor of Champaign and Margaret Greve of Peoria.

She was a clerk at Bergner’s department store from 1963 to 1974. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday at Wilton Mortuary in Peoria with Rev. Dr. John H. Stanley officiating. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
