IMOGENE (CAMPBELL) JOHNSON

Imogene Johnson

Imogene Campbell Johnson, 87, of Jacksonville, formerly of Astoria; South Bend, Ind.; Mountain Home, Ark.; and Pekin, died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Barton W. Stone Christian Home in Jacksonville.

She was born Oct. 20, 1917, in Winchester, a daughter of Dr. Ora Lee and Ola Mae Priest Campbell. She married Chancellor Johnson on Feb. 22, 1946, in Winchester. He died Dec. 31, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Dr. Bernard Campbell; and two sisters, Virginia Flood and an infant.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Sherilyn (and Mike) Pazara of Havana, Sally Spatafore of Pekin, and David (and Jo Lynn) of Astoria.

She had been an accountant for General Motors Corp.

She was a member of the Twin Lakes Vintage Auto Club and the Stepping Out Club.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Lodge 277 in Mountain Home, Ark.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Astoria Cemetery with Gary Sheets officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Astoria American Legion Post 25.
