Mrs. Lula Irwin Of Barry Dies

Mrs. Lula O. Irwin, 85, of Barry, formerly of Astoria, died at 4:53 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 1986, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

She was born Oct. 30, 1900, in Rushville, the daughter of Alvin and Mae (Long) Lear. She married George T. Irwin Dec. 16, 1916, in Rushville. He died Nov. 28, 1966.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Opal Chambers of Good Hope; three grandchildren raised in the Irwin home, Kenneth Fagan of Barry, Mary Lou Wood of Macomb and Sharon Lane of Sandwich; five other grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bernice Belville of Browning; and one brother, Richard Lear of Rock Island.

She was also preceded in death by three children, three sisters, and four brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Jim Comstock officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
