GLADYS BERNICE (LEAR) PALMER

Gladys Bernice Palmer, 81, of rural Browning, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1996, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Rushville, a daughter of Gus A. and Hulvah Mae Long Lear. She married Cletis E. Palmer on April 2, 1952 in Camdenton, Mo. He died Aug. 6, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Norma, and six brothers and sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Patty Chockley of Browning; one stepdaughter, Judy Moose of Cable, Ohio; one stepson, Bernard Palmer of Pekin; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Lear of Rock Island.

Graveside services were held Friday at Astoria Cemetery with Rev. Steve Griffin officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
