VeteranClyde R. Irwin Dies At Age 51

Clyde Robert Irwin, 51, of Lewistown, died at 3:20 p.m. Monday afternoon at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1920, at Rushville, a son of George and Lula Lear Irwin. He was married on Dec. 24, 1941, at Kahoka, Mo., to Esther L. Shaffer, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Dixie L. Mitchell of Cuba; two sons, Robert Irwin of Elmwood and Dennis Irwin at home; his mother, Mrs. Lula Irwin of Barry; one sister, Opal Chambers of Good Hope; and six grandchildren.

His father, one sister and an infant brother preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Lewistown VFW.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Arthur Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Friends may call after 20 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home.
