Donnie Lee Hunter, 64, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

He was born May 13, 1941, in Astoria, a son of Harry and Stella Hunter.

Surviving are two daughters, Stella House and Helen Mitchell; four sisters, Doris Ebbing of Osage Beach, Mo., Shirley McCombs of Petersburg, Nelda Schisler of Springfield and Susan (and Larry) McFarlin of Havana; two brothers, Kenneth (and Betty) of Osage Beach and Larry (and Anne) of Montgomery; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Lee; two brothers, Harry Jr. and Charles; and one sister, Linda Moon.

He attended VIT High School in Table Grove.

He joined the United State Navy in 1959, serving as a mechanic with the Naval Air Force Attack Squadron.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Montgomery.

He was of the Christian faith.

Cremation has been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Cemetery in rural Schuyler County with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Vermont is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, VNA, Attention: Sister Mary Katherine Mariotti, 1245 Corporate Blvd., 6th Floor, Aurora, IL 60505.
