William Hickle Of Macomb Dies

William H. Hickle, 83, of Macomb, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 26, 1908, in Schuyler County, a son of Arthur W. and Sylvia Rakestraw Hickle. He married Virginia May Hoyt on Sept. 12, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo.

She survives alone with one son, William A. of Astoria; one sister, Vera Ebbert of rural Browning; and two grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.

He worked at McGraw-Edison for 33 years, and he was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Southeast Iowa Gas Engine Club and was a charter and organizing member of the Argyle Antique Gas Engine Association.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home, Macomb. Collis Trone officiated. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery in Vermont.

Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program.
