Bessie Jane Hamm, 99, of rural Browning, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, May 20, 1991, at Snyder's Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
She was born March 27, 1892, near Bluff City, a daughter of Stewart and Etta Dutton Rose. She married Auston B. Hamm on March 14, 1914, at Havana. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1975.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Jack Hamm of Astoria; two grandchildren, Julia Vallejo of St. Charles and Nick Hamm of Astoria; and four great-grandchildren, Alicia, Todd, Chris and Heidi.
Mrs. Hamm was a member of the Bluff City Community Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Terry Westerfield officiating. Burial will be in the Sheldons Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm. this evening at Shawgo's.
Memorials may be made to the Bluff City Community Church.
