Lloyd E. Hoke Of Bader Dies

Lloyd E. Hoke, 76, lifetime Browning area resident, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1975, following a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 28, 1899, in Hickory Township, a son of Joseph and Cora Smith Hoke. He married Ruth McLaren on Feb. 28, 1922 in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Winston of Astoria; one foster daughter, Mrs. Pauline Hockenberry of Rock Island; and one sister, Mrs. Isla McLaren of Browning.

He was a retired farmer. Mr. Hoke was presently serving as Browning Township Auditor. He had previously served 12 years as Road Commissioner of Browning Township and was employed for 7 years by the State Highway Road Dept.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Burial will be in the Bader Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Memorial Home on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
