Jay GroffJay GroffJay Dee Groff, 78, of Sequin, Texas, formerly of Astoria, died March 15, 2009.
He was born May 15, 1930, in Blanchard, Okla., the son of Jake and Mayme Groff. He married Ruby Groff. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jay Allen Groff; two daughters, Evelyn (and Clay) West and Roberta (and John) Horton; three sisters, Marjorie Foster, Coita (and Delbert) Fairburn and Jo Ellen (and Carl) Gunter; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Shaw; and two infant sisters.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tom Jones officiating.
