LEONARD JUSTUS GORSUCH

Leonard Gorsuch

Leonard J. Gorsuch, 81, of rural Astoria, died at 12:40 a.m. Friday, March 12, 1999, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Oct. 27, 1917, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Earl and Amy Hendee Gorsuch. He married Frieda Shawgo on Nov. 8, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She died Feb. 13, 1992. He also was preceded in death by two sisters and one half sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Keeler and Mrs. Phillip (Judy) Webb, both of Lewistown; two sons, Donald of Canton and John of Astoria; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Gorsuch Jr. of Ipava; five half brothers, Norman Gorsuch of Astoria, Terry Gorsuch and Larry Gorsuch, both of Havana, Gary Gorsuch of Sebring, Fla., and Bob Gorsuch of Canton; and one half sister, Sandra Servis of Canton.

He was an accountant at Camp Ellis near Ipava during World War II. He also farmed in the Astoria area. He later was owner and operator of Gorsuch Radio and Television in Summum.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
