Maud France

VERMONT — Mrs. Maud Kost France, 80, a resident of the Snyder Nursing Home in Rushville, and a former resident of Astoria and Vermont, died Sunday night in the Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville.

She was born in Schuyler County, June 1, 1883, a daughter of Stephen A. D. and Lydia L. Horwedel Kost. She married Jesse France, in Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1912 and he died in 1953.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Talbott of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mrs. Louise Tingley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Miss Cassie Kost of Chicago, Mrs. Mary Kuykendall of New Harmony, Ind., John Kost of Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Eva Burrus of Toledo, Ohio, Zeb Kost of Vermont, Mrs. Loka Schmoldt of Beardstown and Ned Kost of Basin, Wyo.

Mrs. France was a member of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kost Memorial Home, Vermont. The Rev. Rae Van Etten will officiate and burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
