Miss Kost, Former Chicago Nurse, Dies

Miss Cassie Elizabeth Kost, a former Vermont resident, died Sunday morning at 7:20 in Meyers Nursing Home in Beardstown.

Funeral services were held this morning at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church in Bushnell with Rev. Arthur F. Bray officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.

Miss Kost was the daughter of Stephen Arnold and Ludia Luanta Horwedel Kost. She was employed as a registered nurse at Cook County Hospital in Chicago for 43 years. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Chicago and had received her bachelor’s degree from Lewis Institute in Chicago.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kuykendall of New Harmony, Ind., Mrs. Eva Burrus of Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Loka Schmoldt of Beardstown; and three brothers, John Kost of Kansas City, Zeb Kost of Vermont, and Ned Kost of Basin, Wyo.
