Daniel P. Elliott, 69, of Collinsville died March 31, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 25, 1943, in Chicago. He married Peggy J. Palmer on March 1, 1963, in Norfolk, Va. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Randy Keime of Peoria and Roger Keime of Collinsville; four daughters, Denise (and Tom) Royer of Staunton and Debbie (and Tom) Sand, Jennifer (David) Losaw and Mary Elliott, all of Collinsville; two sisters, Nancy Thomas and Sharon Dodd, both of Vermont; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Florence Harris Elliott; and three brothers, Kenneth, Dennis and John David Elliott.

He was a lineman for Illinois Power.

He was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville; American Legion Post 356 in Collinsville; and a 4th Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus 1758 in Maryville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Sotiroff officiating. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo., with full military honors. Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home in Collinsville was in charge of arrangements.
