Dennis M. “Dink” Elliott, 67, of Astoria died at 2:25 p.m. Oct. 12, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 25, 1940, in Chicago, a son of Sidney and Florence Harris Elliott.
Surviving are one son, Donald (and Nicole) Elliott of Tuscon, Ariz.; one daughter, Angela (and Patrick) Dalton of Loves Park; one brother, Dan (and Peggy) Elliott of Collinsville; two sisters, Nancy (and Kent) Thomas and Sharon Dodd, both of Vermont; and two grandchildren.
He was a machinist mate first class in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1964.
He was a dispatcher and manager for Yellow Trucking Co.
He was a member of Carroll Rankin American Legion Post #26 of Vermont.
Graveside services will be held at Vermont Cemetery with Monsignor Richard Pricco officiating at a later date. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. Full military rites also will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or Astoria Rescue Squad.
