Dean EllisDean Lee Ellis, 76, of Rushville died at 3 p.m. Nov. 14, 2011, at Snyder's Vaughn Haven Nursing Home.

He was born April 21, 1935, in Rushville, a son of Clyde and Lillian Knowles Ellis. He married Regina Caroline Henry on Nov. 10, 1960, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Donnie Ellis of Peoria and Brian Ellis of Rushville; one daughter, Judy Lynn (and Jerry) Crow of Rushville; one brother, Cecil Ellis of Beardstown; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Gene Ellis.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-59.

He worked for Bryant Disposal in his early years and was a Union carpenter before retiring.

He was a former member of Rushville First Presbyterian Church and Rushville Moose Lodge #506.

Graveside services were held Monday at Rushville City Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Military rites were conducted by a U.S. Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
