Rev. Fred W. Engle, 96, died Sunday morning at the Otterbein Home Hospital in Lebanon, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 4, 1875 in Astoria, a son of Andrew J. and Susan Mitchel Engle. He was married to Sarah M. Ellis, Jan. 15, 1902. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 1958.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Anna Bowser of Astoria; one son, Harold F. Engle of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one foster daughter, Mrs. Clara Cooper of Fairborn, Ohio; three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the South Fulton Cemetery with Rev. James Elder officiating.
Friends may call Thursday morning at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
Rev. Engle was a minister in the Evangelical United Brethren Church Conference for over 60 years.
