Eldon Dutton Of Monmouth Dies

Eldon D. Dutton, 70, of 1304 E. 2nd Ave., Monmouth, died Dec. 1, 1985, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

He was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Fulton County, a son of Daniel and Viola (Wagner) Dutton. He married Garnet Husted on May 26, 1933, in Fulton County. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Norma) Kessinger of Compton and Mrs. Larry (Patsy) Castor of Aledo; two sons, Philip Dutton and David Dutton, both of Alexis; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph “Tom” Dutton of Monmouth and Homer Dutton of Little York; three sisters, Catherine Bates of Beardstown, Bonnie Shea of Bloomington and Fern Geiman of Astoria.

He farmed in the Alexis area in Warren County before moving to Monmouth in 1977. He was a member of the Norwood United Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at Hoover Memorial Chapel in Monmouth with Rev. Rick Steele of the Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery at Monmouth.
