Dorothy I. Curless, 87, of Table Grove, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at 12:55 p.m. at the Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.
She was born on April 13, 1909, in Astoria, a daughter of Alva and Anna Benton Camp. She married Vernie Curless in Havana in 1928. He died Jan. 24, 1989. Also preceding her in death were one son, Jack C. Curless; one brother, Benton Camp; and two sisters, Edith Camp and Winona Camp.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Joan) Shawgo of Galesburg, and one son, Jerry Curless of Sarasota, Fla., and six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member and deaconness of the Table Grove Community Church and was over a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Table Grove American Legion Auxiliary.
Services were held Saturday at the Table Grove Community Church with Rev. Howard Self officiating. Burial was in the Harris Cemetery at Table Grove.
Memorials may be made to the Table Grove Community Church or Table Grove Rural Health Clinic.
Arrangements are by the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont.
