Mrs. Zelma Curless Dies Wednesday

Mrs. Zelma Curless, 82, of Astoria, died early last Wednesday morning in Culbertson Hospital in Rushville following an illness of two days.

She was born Sept. 25, 1883, in Sheldons Grove, the daughter of Adam and Malissa Price Ray. She was married Sept. 5, 1904, in Havana to Rex Curless, who died Dec. 22, 1956.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eva Kost and Mrs. Freda Renner, both of Astoria; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a brother, John Ray of Rushville. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Astoria.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon in Shawgo Memorial Home, the Rev. Joseph Gift and the Rev. Russell Fry officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
