Mrs. Eva Kost Of Astoria Dies

Mrs. Eva F. Kost, 84, of Astoria, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 1989, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born June 23, 1905, at Bluff City, a daughter of Rex and Zelma Ray Curless. She married Troy A. Kost in Astoria on June 24, 1928. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Oral C. Kost of Lewistown; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Freida Renner.

Mrs. Kost was a member of the Astoria Christian Church, a 50-year member and Past Worthy Matron of Astoria Chapter No. 144 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Mother’s Club of Alpha Tau Omega, Past President of the Fulton County Republican Women’s Club, Past President of the Women’s Division of the Township Officials of Illinois, and a member of the Sorosis Club of Astoria.

Private services were held and burial was in the Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home was in charge.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
