He was born Dec. 12, 1935, a son of Herbert Gifford “Snakey” and Maudie Heltzel Brown. He married Louise Potter on Aug. 10, 1955, in Ipava. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Rick (and Ann) Brown of Table Grove; two daughters, LaMerle (and Jim) Czarnecki of Table Grove and LeAnna (and John) Ritter of Macomb; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Brown; one sister, Marie Schisler; and two grandchildren, Paul and Suzy Ritter.
He worked multiple jobs in his lifetime, starting at D.O. Smith’s garage in Table Grove to Ulmers Ford Sales in Ipava. He worked for the Table Grove Elementary School, International Harvester in Canton, Pioneer Seed in Good Hope and West Central FS in Adair.
He was a volunteer fireman for the Table Grove Fire Department for over 30 years.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb with Mike Ulmer officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be private.
