Mildred BollingerMildred Bollinger, 96, of Beardstown, formerly of Browning, died at 8 p.m. Aug. 22, 2008, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 29, 1911, in Woodstock Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Fred and Minnie Young Rittenhouse. She married Herschel Bollinger on Nov. 5, 1929, in Rushville. He died Jan. 29, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Leo Bollinger; one daughter, Juanita Bollinger; two grandsons, Michael Bollinger and Anthony Treadman; one granddaughter, Brenda Reische; two brothers, Ralph and Ora Rittenhouse; and one sister, Dorothy Bivens.

Surviving are four sons, Wayne (and Emma) Bollinger of Browning, Larry (and Arletta) Bollinger, Charles (and Luann) Bollinger, both of Astoria and Paul (and Sandy) Bollinger of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five daughters, Linda (and Paul) Booth, Patsy (and Jim) Self and Sue (and David) Dotzert, all of Beardstown, Beverly (and Larry) Treadman of Wilmington and Marianne (and Robert) Agans of Pleasant Plains; two sisters, Fairy Robertson of Browning and Freida Rittenhouse of Arlington, Va.; 32 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.

She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of Browning United Methodist Church.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
