Marjorie BeghtolMarjorie A. Beghtol, 81, of Rushville died at 6:18 p.m. Feb. 24, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Quincy, a daughter of Lawrence and Carrie Allen Fuqua. She first married J.R. Tolle on Sept. 22, 1947, in Mount Sterling. He died Feb. 14, 1968. She later married Eldon Beghtol on Jan. 5, 1973, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Bill (and Lydia) Tolle and Ed (and Barb) Tolle, both of Rushville; three sisters, Mary Downs, Jeanne (and Jerry) Thurman and Joanne Grate, all of Rushville; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Ross and Laura Toland.

She graduated from Rushville High School in 1944 and received an accounting degree from Gem City business College in Quincy. She worked as a bookkeeper for 26 years at Kerr Hardware in Rushville from 1956 to 1982. She and her husband, Eldon, owned and operated Beck’s Electric in Rushville from 1983 to 1999, where she was the bookkeeper.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville, a 50-year member of Schuyler American Legion Auxiliary and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star #694, where she served as secretary.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Sowers officiating. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
