Mary Olive BakerMary Olive Baker, 91, of rural Browning died at 12:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born July 3, 1911, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of William Henry and Elsie Ellen Belville Skiles. She married Wilson Jefferson Baker on Sept. 22, 1931, in Rushville. He died April 29, 1982.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Harvey, and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Lewis (and Doris) and Robert (and Melba), both of Astoria; one daughter, Mary Ann Baker of Astoria; one sister, Rosella (and Paul) Piper of Monmouth; two brothers, Woodrow Skiles of Browning and Virgil Skiles of Rushville; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

She had been a housekeeper for families in the Astoria area.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church in Bader and Bader Ladies Aid.

Services were held Monday at her church with Scott Neal and Shane Baker officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Bader Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church missionary fund.
