Lewis "Lewie" BakerLewis “Lewie” Baker, 77, of Astoria died at 5:25 p.m. Oct. 23, 2015, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born March 8, 1938, in Browning, a son of Wilson and Mary Skiles Baker. He married Doris Bucher on Sept. 10, 1957, in Bader. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jeff Baker of Browning; three daughters, Darla Rose and Marcia Weiss, both of Astoria, and Stacey (and Bill) Lechlitner of Warsaw, Ind.; one sister, Mary Ann Baker of Astoria; one brother, Robert (and Melba) Baker of Astoria; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harvey Baker.

He was a hired hand, farmer and worked for L and N Industries for nearly 20 years.

He was in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren and the Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Services were held Tuesday at his church with Pastor Gary Yoder officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria with military rites provided by the Astoria Legion Post #25. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
