Cecil Batterton Of Astoria Dies

Cecil W. Batterton, 79, of Astoria died at 9:32 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 1990, at his residence.

He was born May 15, 1911, near Astoria, a son of Claude E. and Ethel Furniss Batterton. He married Evelyn Watson on Aug. 5, 1933, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Mary Lou) Isbell of Canton; four sons, Jerry of Canton, Bob of Farmington, and Wayne and Kenny, both of Urbana, Ohio; one sister, Louise Gale of Vermont; two brothers, Russell of Cuba and Junior of Summum; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

He was employed by the Astoria Township Road Commissioner for nine years and had been farming in Astoria.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. this morning at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
