John W. Bubb Of Ipava Dies

John W. Bubb, 79, of Ipava, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 1990, in the emergency room at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born March 24, 1910, near Ipava, a son of Franklin and Ruth Ellen Robertson Bubb. He married Elizabeth Bajusz on Aug. 2, 1930, in St. Joseph, Mich. She survives.

Also surviving are two brothers, Raymond and Robert, both of Ipava; one half-brother, Donald Fordyce of Bayshore, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, John Jr., and one sister.

He had been the owner and operator of Bubb’s Menswear in Ipava for 35 years before retiring in 1977. He was a charter member of the Ipava Sportsmen’s Club, where he had served as secretary-treasurer for the past several years. He also had served as secretary-treasurer for the Ipava Fire Dept. for many years.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava, with Rev. Gordon E. Jones officiating. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava Fire Dept. Rescue Squad or to the Ipava American Legion Post.
