DONALD FRANKLIN FORDYCE

Donald Franklin Fordyce, 70, of Asheboro, N.C., formerly of Ipava and Brentwood, N.Y., died on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in Middlesex County, N.J. He had been suffering from heart trouble for a number of years and his death was due to a heart attack.

He was born in Whiting, Ind., on March 31, 1929, the son of Frank John and Ruth Ellen Robertson Fordyce. He married Irene Joan Nieser on Dec. 31, 1953. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Donald of High Point, N.C., Roger of Brentwood, N.Y., and James of Bay Shore; two daughters, Deborah (and Michael) Basile of Bay Shore, and Veronica (and Thomas) Weber of Bethpage, N.Y.; five grandchildren; two half brothers, Robert and Raymond Bubb of Ipava; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one half sister, Josephine Miller, and a half brother, John Bubb.

He was reared in Ipava, where he graduated from high school in 1947.

He served in the Air Force for a number of years. He also worked for many years for the Long Island Lighting Company at Port Jefferson and Northport Power Stations. After retiring from the lighting company, he lived in High Point, where he worked for the Miller Desk Company. For the past few years, he had lived in Asheboro.
