Robert BubbRobert E. Bubb, 82, of Ipava died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born July 25, 1919, in Ipava, a son of Franklin and Ruth Ellen Robertson Bubb. He married Helen Hulvey on Aug. 15, 1948, in Table Grove. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Edwin (and Lynn) of Quincy and Stanley (and Jayme) of Macomb; three daughters, Margo Bubb of Rocheport, Mo., Emily (and Mike) Hollenback of Ipava and Annette (and David) Hull of Mason City; one brother, Raymond of Ipava; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

A former member of Ipava American Legion Post 17, he was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the mechanized cavalry.

He was a carpenter with Bubb Bros. Construction for more than 40 years.

He also coached baseball and softball in the Ipava area for many years.

He was a member of Ipava Christian Church, where he served as a trustee, elder, board chairman and deacon.

He was a former member of the Ipava Volunteer Fire Dept.

Services were held Saturday at Ipava Christian Church with Rev. Tracy Armstrong officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church.
