CECIL L. BURGESS

Cecil L. Burgess Of Lewistown Dies

Cecil L. Burgess, 69, of 408 S. Main, Lewistown, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 1985, at Clarytona Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1915, in rural Lewistown, the son of Lewis and Grace (Downing) Burgess. He married Louise Vaughn Feb. 26, 1935, in Havana. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Raymond Burgess of Cuba and Leroy Burgess of St. David; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Bailey of Bath, Mrs. Nancy Howell of Lewistown and Mrs. Alice Colston of Ipava; one brother, Jessie Burgess of Lewistown; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Keeler of Lewistown; a half sister, Mrs. Rachel Griffin of Yukon, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

He was a member of Liverpool Methodist Church and retired from the Ipava Processing Plant.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lewistown, with James Heaney officiating.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown Rescue Squad or Clarytona Nursing Home.
