Dwight Beaty Of Oneida Dies

Relatives in this area received word yesterday of the death of Dwight Beaty, 67, of Oneida, former Astoria area resident. Mr. Beaty died early Thursday morning, May 5, 1981, in a hospital at Blue Island where he had undergone open heart surgery and was thought to be recovering satisfactorily.

He was born Aug. 1, 1913, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Frank and Birdie Martin Beaty. He was married to Eileen Cadwalder of Canton on Oct. 27, 1934. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Opal Maple of Lindenhurst, Harold Beaty of Park Forest South, and Frank Beaty of Pontiac; six grandchildren; one brother, Fay Beaty of Astoria; two sisters, Mrs. Ferne Schisler of Astoria and Mrs. Maxine Haney of Colchester; and one aunt, Mrs. Nellie Beaty of Astoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Thompson.

Mr. Beaty had planned to attend the Astoria Alumni Banquet for his class reunion.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Checkrow Church near Bushnell.

Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. this afternoon at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church of Galesburg, Checkrow Church, or the Wycliffe Bible Translators.
