Eileen Beaty

Eileen C. Beaty, 82, of Oneida died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.

She was born Sept. 30, 1916, in Orion Township, Fulton County, the daughter of Roscoe and Vera Linn Cadwalader.

She married Dwight W. Beaty on Oct. 27, 1934, in LaSalle. He died May 4, 1981.

One son, Harold, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Rev. Frank of Burlington, Iowa; one daughter, Opal Maple of Galesburg; eight grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She and her husband farmed in the Checkrow community near Avon for more than 30 years. They were instrumental in starting the Checkrow Community Church. She moved to Oneida in 1970.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, where she was a Sunday School teacher and deaconess. She was a member of the Shining Lights Circle, Bethel Church Hilltoppers and served on the missions committee.

She was past president of Oneida Women’s Club. She was a member of Oneida Senior Citizens, as well as Daughters of the American Revolution, Rebecca Parke Chapter.

Services were held at her church with Revs. Kirk Kendall, Lee Johnson and Frank Beaty officiating. Graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Galesburg Rescue Mission.
