Fred Barnett Of Peoria Dies

Funeral services for Fred Barnett, 73, of 2117 W. Proctor St., Peoria, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Endsley and Son Funeral Home, 1417 S. Stanley St. with Rev. C. Don Ferrill of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery.

Mr. Barnett died at 3:15 a.m. March 31 at Methodist Hospital. He had been a patient since Feb. 25.

Born Dec. 2, 1895 in Massac County, Ill., the son of George and Margie Richardson Barnett, he was married to Bessie E. Black in Peoria in June of 1952.

Mr. Barnett was employed by the Peoria Sanitary District for 12 years, retiring four years ago.

Surviving are his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Edith) Shaw, Mrs. Clarence (Vera) Osar and Mrs. John (Fern I.) Cox Jr., all of Peoria, Mrs. Robert (Dorothea) Beck of Astoria, Mrs. Roy (Imogene) Schuman, Aurora, Colo., and Mrs. Dalbert (Bessie) Smith of Lewistown; two sons, Fred Simpson of Vermont, Ill., and Lloyd Simpson of Virginia, Ill.; one brother, Coy Barnett of Stanford; one sister, Mrs. Mary Graves of Paris, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.
