Fern I. Cox, 82, of Peoria, died at 6:23 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 1996, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Vermont, a daughter of Fred L. and Bessie Barnett Simpson. She married John N. Cox Jr. on Dec. 26, 1953, in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are four sisters, Dorothea “Lizzie” Beck of Astoria, Vera E. Osar of Peoria, Nelda Imogene Schuman of Aurora, Colo., and Bessie M. Smith of Lewistown; one brother Lloyd E. Simpson of Beardstown; 11 nephews and 16 nieces.
One brother preceded her in death.
She worked in the housekeeping department at Jumer’s Castle Lodge in Peoria for many years.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Bible Baptist Church in Bartonville with Rev. John Sheaffer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church.
Cumerford Endsley Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
