Mrs. Ruth Brown, Former Resident, Dies At Ripley

Services for Mrs. Ruth Marie Brown, 74, who was found dead at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at her residence in Ripley where she had resided 1-1/2 years after moving from 1531 S. Livingston St., Peoria, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at Davison Funeral Home with Rev. L. Scott Huson officiating. Burial was in Fondulac Cemetery.

She was born in Fulton County, June 10, 1895, the daughter of Lou and Nellie Zettle Derry and was married to Howard Brown. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Paul Thompson of Ripley, Mrs. Claire Lewis of Peoria, Mrs. Loren Lindsey of Lewistown, and Mrs. Donald Estep of Bartonville; a son, Robert Brown of Peoria; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Frances Rowland of Peoria, Mrs. Grace Bainter, Mrs. Isla Duffy and Mrs. Marville Foster, all of Macomb, and Mrs. John Plowman of Birds; and a brother, Freeman Derry of Chicago.
