LAVERN E. (WORKMAN) HOWE ANDERSON

LaVern Anderson

LaVern E. Anderson, 86, of Macomb, formerly of Astoria, died at 9:45 a.m. Aug. 12, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born April 17, 1932, in Astoria, a daughter of Samuel and Ruby Hulvey Workman. She married Herbert Howe on May 16, 1951, in Astoria. He preceded her in death in 1988. She later married Charles Anderson in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Thomas (and Glenda) Howe of Astoria; two daughters, Judy Kennedy of Sarcoxi, Mo., and Linda Kaufman of Normal; two brothers, James (and Roberta) Workman and Max (and Marilyn) Workman, both of Astoria; one stepson, Robert Anderson of Williamsville; two stepdaughters, Cindy Branch and Debbie Sutton, both of Macomb; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Howe; one sister, Marjorie Wilson; and one brother, Virgil Workman.

She was a homemaker. She also worked for Stevens Publishing in Astoria for several years.

She was a member of Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb.

Graveside services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Astoria Cemetery with Pastor Donnie Case officiating. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church.
