Arthur Anderson

Arthur James Anderson, 77, of Manchester died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at St. John's Hospital North.

He was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Beardstown, a son of David and Alma Anderson. He married Ramona Marguerite Brasel in 1945. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Daniel (and Cristina) of Hampton Roads, Va., and Roy David (and Pat) of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Kathy (and Larry) Rogers of Springfield; a brother, David of Browning; three sisters, Irene Curless and Viola Quiesenberry of Astoria, and Vivian Haare of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Beardstown United Methodist Church.

He received a Purple Heart during World War II while serving in the U.S. Army.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements.
