Becky WatsonRebecca Lynn “Becky” Watson, 59, of Table Grove died peacefully Jan. 29, 2025, at her home following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

She was born March 27, 1965, in Havana, a daughter of Margaret Ann Thompson Hollenback and Roy Lee Hollenback. She married Donald C. Watson on Aug. 6, 1983. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, Brooke (and Nick) Lyytinen of Aitkin, Minn., Grant (and Jessica) Watson of Auburn and Dylan (and Bhrea) Watson of Austin, Ark.; four siblings, Jane (and Kevin) Cowin of Rushville, Bill (and Marcia) Hollenback of Ipava, Cindy (and Steve) Lewis of Flora and Blake (and Christy) Hollenback of Adair; one uncle, Rudy Thompson of Texas; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leslie Michael Hollenback; and one sister, Deborah Ruth Lindsey.

She graduated from VIT Schools in May 1983 and later pursued higher education with determination and passion. She earned an associate’s degree in applied sciences from Illinois Central College and worked as a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant from 2001-17. In 2017, she achieved her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University in Wisconsin and spent many fulfilling years working at MDH Rehab.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ted Shirley officiating. Private burial will be held in the Temple Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in Becky’s memory can be made to The American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in St. Louis, Mo., and MDH Hospice.
